Negotiations resumed with the Company at the Labor Temple on April 1 – 3. We continued with: C-1 (Eliminate Meals) Presented and discussed on 03/27. Withdrawn on 04/03. C-7 (24.9 Gloving) – Presented and discussed on 03/27. After discussions, Company withdrew proposal on 04/01. C-9 (Monitoring Calls at CSC) – Presented on 03-04. Further discussion took place on 03/18. A manager and the Chief Steward of the CSC appeared on 03/25 to clarify the current process. Continued discussion through several sessions and Company withdrew on 04/01. C-11 (Genco Travel Rules) - On hold until Genco Travel Committee completes study. Committee is scheduled to meet on April 16, 2003. C-15 (4 Shift to 5 Shift) – Presented and discussed on 03/20 and again on 03/27. Discussions continued through 04/02 with no resolve. C-17 (Create Lead Line Tech) – Presented and discussed on 03/20 and again on 03/27. Discussions continued through 04/01 with no resolve. C-18 (Eliminate Lead Pay) - Presented and discussed on 03/20. Continued discussion on 03/25. Union countered with U-21 to increase Lead pay rate. C-25 (Chief Steward Meetings) – Presented on 03/20 and discussions continued on 03/27 and 03/28. Withdrawn on 04/01. C-26 (Grievance Procedure) – Presented and discussed on 03/20. Additional discussion took place again on 03/28. Company withdrew on 04/01. U-3 (Successor Language) – There was much discussion on this with no resolve. Still on the table. U-8 (Article IV 1.25 to 2.50/Weeks of Separation Pay) – Presented and discussed on 03/20. Additional discussion took place on the 03/27. Union withdrew on 04/01. U-9 (Additional Assistant Business Manager Benefits) - Presented on 03/20. Discussions continued on 03/27 and 03/28. Still on the table. U-12 (Storm Duty Expense) - Brought to the table on 03/20. Withdrawn on 04/03 after discussions. U-17 (Sick Leave Offset for Retirement) – Presented and discussed on 03/27. Requested information received on 04/03. U-18 (Death of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, and Nephews) – Presented and discussed on 03/27. Company presented language on 03/28 for the Union to review. Company agreed to allow time off for Aunts and Uncles. Tentative Agreement reached on 04/01. U-19 (Pallbearer) – Presented and discussed on 03/20. Company presented language on 03/28 for the Union to review. After review of language, Union was in agreement. Tentative Agreement reached on 04/01. U-20 (Article XXVII) – Presented and discussed on 03/27 and discussion continued on 03/28. Requested information presented on 03/28. Withdrawn on 04/03. U-21 (Lead Pay) – Counter proposal to C-18 on 03/25. U-24 (Certified Welding Premium) – Presented and discussed on 03/27. The Company presented language on 03/28 for the Union to review. Still discussing how to resolve issue. U-25 (All Other Premiums) – Presented and discussed on 03/27. Company will discuss at final package time. U-28 (Safety Toe Footwear) – Presented and discussed on 03/27. Company agreed to increase payment. Tentative Agreement reached on 04/01. U-29 (Walking Shoes) – Presented and discussed on 03/27. Discussed and withdrew on 04/01. U-31 (Relocation Benefits) – Presented and discussed on 03/27 and again on 03/28. Agreed to new language on 04/01. U-32 (Plant Safety Coordinator) – Brought to the table on 03/27 and discussed on 03/28. Withdrawn on 04/01. U-37 (Wisconsin State AFL-CIO Health Care Plan) A presentation was given by David Newby on Tuesday, March 25th. Waiting for further information. Discussed as a package were: U-13 (Add Travel Rule Policy to Agreement) U-14 (Increase Payment to Travel Rule Policy and Eliminate True-up Method) U-23 (Idle Time) C-4 (Air Miles) C-5 (Weekend Requirement) After lengthy discussions on the above proposals, it was agreed between the parties to withdraw C4, C5, U14 and U11 (Increase Meal Allowance) with Tentative Agreement reached on U13. U23 is still on the table for discussion. New proposals that were brought to the table for the week of April 1 were: C-21 (Modify Maternity/Paternity Leave) – Withdrawn on 04/02. U-11 (Increase Meal Allowance) – Withdrawn on 04/03. U-30 (Flame Retardant Clothing) – Allowance increase was agreed to. Tentative Agreement reached on 04/03. We will reconvene with the Company at the Madison Headquarters on Tuesday, April 8, 2003. We hope this information is helpful in keeping the membership up-to-date.
