Today, April 14, 2004 the Ballot Committee met in order to tally the most recent Contract vote on the tentative agreement with Alliant Energy.

Of the 1413 Local 965 Union members at Alliant Energy, 1129 turned out to vote.  This is a turn-out rate of 80%.  Of those that voted, 265 (24%) voted "NO", 863 (76%) voted "YES", and 1 ballot was voided.

Local 965 members should be very proud of themselves for the involvement during this long process.  You should also be very proud of yourself in regards to the huge turnout at all three of the Contract votes we have had.  The continued involvement shows that this Union is heading in the right direction to become the force that it should be.

Our intention is to hold a post Contract rally to reflect on what we accomplished and focus on our future.  We look forward to seeing you as we become stronger.
