December 19, 2003
Dear Sister or Brother, Local Union 965 Staff
As you are aware, members of Local 965 working for Alliant Energy voted on a
new contract throughout this last month. Our committee would again
like to thank the very good turn out of those exercising their right to vote
and being a part of their own future.
The results are in and as follows:
1416 eligible voters
1134 votes cast (80%) of eligible voters
914 "NO" votes (81%)
220 "YES" votes (19%)
Our Committee heard loud and clear the major concerns with this last
package. We will be addressing those concerns as we return to the
table.
After the Vote was tabulated we had contacted the Company. During
those discussions we scheduled a meeting to continue negotiations. We
will be reconvening again Tuesday December 23, 2003. As always, we try
to keep as informed as well as we can in regard to the negotiations
progress.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
In Solidarity,
Your Negotiating Committee,
Shawn Reents
