Alliant Negotiations Update #45 February 24, 2004 Today, Tuesday, February 24, 2004 our Committee met with the Company’s Committee and the Federal Mediator at the Madison Labor Temple to continue negotiations. The Union Committee was in the position to respond to the Company’s February 11, 2004 offer of 3.0% for three years, retroactivity and no delayed increases but no pension improvement. This had been the last offer since the two committees had met. After much discussion and caucus in the morning, the Union Committee formally rejected the Company’s February 6th and 11th offers that they had presented. We responded with a proposal that our Committee had offered on February 6th. The Company’s Committee responded with a choice of two options in the form of a Plan A or a Plan B proposal. The Union’s Committee will be responding to these proposals that were put before us today. Both Committees will meet again tomorrow, Wednesday, February 25th along with Jim Dahlberg, our 6th District International Representative. The Federal Mediator will not be present due to a conflict.
