The Union Negotiating Committee will be going back to the table with the Company to continue negotiations on January 12 and 13, 2004.  The Solidarity Committee met to prepare in case negotiations continue to prove unsuccessful.  Due to Alliant Energy bargaining in bad faith by unilaterally implementing the medical plan including the premiums, co-pays and deductibles, we are making plans to move forward starting with Saturday, January 17.

On Saturday January 17, we are tentatively planning to conduct informational picketing in the Janesville and Beloit Area.  More locations will follow as we progress through this process.  Tentatively we have plans for additional informational picketing and/or leafleting in Sheboygan, Fond du Lac, Madison G.O., Erroll. B. Davis' residence and various other Executive residences.

We need you to contact your Chief Steward by the end of the day on Tuesday, January 13 and let them know if you are interested in participating.  We will also let you know additional details as they become available.  It is imperative that you inform your Chief Steward of your interest to assist us in organizing this as easily as we can.
