Negotiations Update #29
November 3, 2003
Dear Sisters and Brothers:
First, the IBEW Local #965 Office and the Negotiating Committee would like to
thank all of you who joined us for the Solidarity Rallies held over the last two
weeks. We want to thank all of our #965 brothers and sisters who attended the
rallies in Fond du Lac, Janesville and Madison. Especially those who made it to
more than one rally and former IBEW Local #965 members who were in attendance.
We would also like to thank our speakers who delivered such powerful and upbeat
speeches.
Janesville - Steelworkers Union Marshall Baun, IBEW Local #890 B.M./F.S. Norbert
Jarzynski.
Madison - IBEW Local #2304 B.M./F.S. David Poklinkoski, David Nack a
Professor with the U.W. School for Workers, and Jim Cavanaugh, President of the
South Central Federation of Labor.
Fond du Lac - Our own B.M./F.S. Shawn Reents.
There are also many others that we would like to thank for their
participation in these very worthwhile events. All together there were an
estimated 380 attendees at all 3 rallies. A pretty good number for an
event that was scheduled in a short period of time.
On November 3rd, 2003 the Local 965 negotiating committee met to resume
negotiations. We met as our committee only to work on the pending
negotiations. We discussed where we are currently at this point in this
negotiation process. We discussed what has been negotiated so far and what
has been offered to date by both parties. We spent the majority of time on
wages and the EPO medical plan. We looked at what it will take to get
these negotiations done and to deliver a fair and equitable package to the
members. We will be returning to the bargaining table with the Company on
Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003 at the Labor Temple.
We welcome your involvement by submitting your comments on our website at www.ibew965.com.
Please remember to take the time to work safe. If you have any questions,
do not hesitate to contact one of us.
In Solidarity,
Your Negotiating Committee
