Negotiations update for the week of April 24, 2007.
The Local 965 Negotiating Committee, along with Assistant Business
Manager Kemp Grutt began the week with a meeting in
Dubuque
Iowa
with representatives of IBEW Local 204. . Local
204’s Business Manager, Ron Garrett was there, along with the Assistant
Business, Dave George and Officers, Matt Fisher and Tim Boyle.
We had discussion on the progress that has been made in our negotiations
and the status of what we still have on the table.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the Union Committee continued to
discuss Medical, Wages and Pension issues that are still open.
There was a great deal of discussion on all of these issues at the
bargaining table. We will
resume talks with the Company’s Committee on Tuesday, May 1, 2007.
Don’t forget to participate in the scheduled coach bus trip to the
Alliant Shareholders meeting scheduled for May 10, 2007 in
Cedar Rapids
,
Iowa
. Make sure to get approval for a
day off from your supervisor and meet us in the parking lot of the
Madison
Labor
Temple
at 8 A.M that day. The Bus can make
stops along Hwy. 151, west of
Madison
, if you have a group that needs to be picked up at a different location, if the
arrangements are made ahead of time. Please
be sure to bring your ID, your proxy card and your
Orange
or Black Local 965 shirt. Let’s
get out there and show them we are paying attention to what their doing by our
attendance and our display of Solidarity.
